On June 25 at midday, the Port Authority of Alonissos received reports regarding propulsion issues affecting the 'Super Star' ferry upon its entry into the port. There were notable speed inconsistencies and a problem with incomplete combustion originating from the port side main engine. The ferry was in the midst of its regular service route from Volos to Skiathos, Skopelos, and back, carrying a total of 175 passengers. In response to the situation, the Alonissos Port Station has withheld permission for the vessel to set sail until a valid certificate of seaworthiness is submitted by the overseeing classification society. Meanwhile, alternatives were arranged for 130 passengers, along with eight cars, four trucks, and two additional passenger vehicles bound for Skopelos, Skiathos, and Volos, ensuring they reached their destinations on other operating ferries.

In light of this situation, the Central Port Authority of Volos promptly intervened, halting the ferry's departure until necessary repairs were made and a certificate of class maintenance was submitted by the overseeing classification society. Meanwhile, arrangements were made to ensure that passengers and their vehicles, aside from the trucks and buses, were successfully transported to their intended destinations aboard the ferry 'Iolkos'.

On June 3, at approximately noon, the Alonissos Port Authority received alarming news concerning the 'Superstar' ferry, which encountered a significant engine malfunction involving its port side main engine while attempting to moor at Alonissos. The vessel was on a regular route that connects Volos, Skiathos, Skopelos, and Alonissos, carrying 98 passengers along with nine vehicles and seven trucks onboard. As a precautionary measure, the Alonissos Port Station swiftly halted the ferry's departure. However, following the submission of a seaworthiness certificate from the relevant classification society, the ferry was later authorized to make a single, cargo-free, and passenger-free trip back to Volos. Meanwhile, the 71 passengers who had been waiting at Alonissos were promptly transferred to their next destinations using the ferries 'Speedrunner Jett II' and 'Iolkos'.
