The newly minted 'Svitzer London' has officially joined the ranks of the Svitzer fleet in Rotterdam. This formidable Damen ASD 3212 tugboat began its operational journey immediately after completing builders and owners trials. Its arrival in Rotterdam was marked on May 20th, when it was transported as deck cargo aboard a heavy lift vessel from Vietnam. Constructed at Damen's Song Cam shipyard, 'Svitzer London' was shipped alongside another ASD 3212, the 'Mercurius', which will be part of Iskes Towage & Salvage's fleet. The 'Mercurius' has since been transported to the nearby Padmos yard in Stellendam for additional customisation. Post-trials, 'Svitzer London' demonstrated impressive capabilities, achieving a maximum bollard pull of 82.2 tonnes when towing ahead and 75.4 tonnes astern, alongside a top speed of 14.0 knots in both directions. The tug measures 32.70 meters in length, with a beam of 12.82 meters, a depth of 5.35 meters, and an aft draft of 5.532 meters.
