The delivery of the wrecked Chilean wellboat 'Seikongen' has been postponed due to engine issues experienced by the towing tug, 'Taltal'. This incident occurred on August 14, 2018, while the vessel was anchored in Ancud, situated north of Chiloé Island. The wellboat was anticipated to reach its destination at the port of Talcahuano by August 12, having set off from Chonchi near Castro in Chiloé during the night hours. Mayor Carlos Gómez of Ancud has expressed his intention to file a corresponding complaint, demanding the immediate removal of the wellboat from their waters. Local fishermen and various organizations have also protested against the 'Seikongen's' presence in Ancud.
