On July 8, 2025, at 04:00 a.m., the tanker 'Tasco Sakorn' experienced an alarming incident as it navigated the eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme in the Singapore Strait. While en route from Singapore to Da Nang, the vessel was boarded by a group of unknown intruders approximately 1.8 nautical miles off the Batu Berhanti Light, positioned at 1° 10.96' N 103° 51.24' E. Fortunately, reports confirm that nothing was stolen during this incident, raising concerns about maritime security in the region.

The vessel Tascco Sakorn encountered a significant main engine malfunction while navigating from Cigading to Fremantle. On October 8, 2017, the ship required assistance upon its arrival at the port's anchorage. The tug Wambiri (IMO: 8515518), supported by a Total Assist-tug, was employed to guide the vessel into Fremantle after it was initially towed from the anchorage, operating solely with its bow thruster. Despite the circumstances, the weather was favorable, and the Tascco Sakorn was successfully docked by 10:45 a.m.

The AD MATSU, a bitumen tanker, was recently the target of a piracy incident in the South China Sea, specifically north of Tanjung Berakit on Pulau Bintan, Indonesia. A group of six pirates managed to board the vessel, where they reportedly stole cash and personal belongings from the crew before making their escape. An operation by the Indonesian Navy led to the arrest of one of the assailants on August 12. While the exact date of the attack remains unclear, data from AIS tracking suggests the incident likely occurred around August 7 or 8, as the tanker was navigating from Singapore to Hai Phong, Vietnam. Currently, the AD MATSU is back in operation, heading towards Singapore or Indonesia after completing its voyage.
