In an exciting development for the maritime industry, the Tasmanian Achiever II, a state-of-the-art 700-TEU ro-ro combo vessel, has been officially named and is primed to commence its service on March 1. This remarkable cargo ship, measuring 210 meters (690 feet), holds the title of Australia's largest general cargo ship flying the national flag. The Tasmanian Achiever II will facilitate the transportation of goods between Melbourne and the Port of Burnie in Tasmania. This new addition marks the first of two ships commissioned by Toll, a significant player in logistics, aimed at enhancing freight capabilities across the Bass Strait, with an estimated increase of over 40 percent in cargo capacity on every journey.
