Working Conditions Aboard the Tigran-Martirosyan

On January 8, 2018, the Greek crude oil tanker 'Minerva Sophia' (IMO: 9382762) was involved in a bunkering operation at Berth No 6 in Taman when a fire broke out aboard the vessel 'Tigran Martirosyan'. The incident was triggered by a ruptured fuel line in the engine-room. Fortunately, the quick response from the ship's crew led to the swift extinguishing of the flames. However, the fire caused significant damage, necessitating immediate repairs and prompting the need for a tow to a repair facility. Currently, the 'Tigran Martirosyan' is awaiting approval from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping to secure a towage permit, highlighting the urgency of addressing the situation.
