On the evening of January 12, 2020, a maritime incident occurred involving the 'Timbus' as it was traveling from Pasajes to Södra Monsteras. At 6:40 p.m., the vessel collided with one of the lock gates in the Kiel Canal, located in Kiel-Holtenau, while exiting the lock heading eastbound. The cause of the allision is currently under investigation, but the impact resulted in damage to the ship’s bulbous bow, which was subsequently examined at the Lindenau-Yard. On November 26, 2017, the cargo vessel 'Timbus' found itself in distress while journeying from Varberg to Flushing. At approximately 3 a.m., the ship encountered a severe engine malfunction due to a deflagration in the main engine's cylinder, which subsequently led to a fire in the engine room. Although the dedicated crew was able to quickly extinguish the flames, the damage resulted in a complete loss of the main power supply, leading the vessel to drop anchor around 20 miles off the coast of Terschelling in the afternoon. In response to the emergency, the Dutch tugboat 'Viking' (IMO: 9431903) was dispatched from Delfzijl around midday to assist in towing the 'Timbus' to safety in Emden. The vessel successfully docked at the Industry Quay on November 27 at 6:30 p.m., where authorities initiated an investigation into the incident.
