Swiftly responding to the situation, the U.S. Coast Guard deployed a 29-foot Response Boat-Small from Station Cape Charles for an initial on-site assessment. Additionally, an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City performed an aerial survey of the area. Fortunately, no significant damage or pollution was detected during the evaluations.
