In a heartbreaking incident on June 15, 2018, the body of a 24-year-old male passenger, who either fell overboard or jumped from the deck of the ferry 'Töll', was recovered by divers. The distressing event occurred while the ferry was navigating the Virtsu-Kuivastu route, just before noon. Divers from the Muhu volunteer maritime rescue unit successfully located the body on the seafloor near the Kuivastu harbor dock in the late afternoon, around 6 p.m. Following the recovery, the body was scheduled for examination by a forensic expert to ascertain the cause of death. The maritime surveillance center was alerted at 12:15 p.m. regarding the incident of a passenger overboard as the vessel approached the harbor. The unfortunate realization that the 24-year-old man was missing came to light when his traveling companion noticed his absence upon disembarking in Kuivastu. A review of onboard CCTV footage confirmed the alarming sight of a man jumping or falling from the ferry at 10:39 a.m.
