On March 24, 2019, a maritime incident unfolded at Elbe Port Brunsbüttel, involving the Liberian-flagged container vessel m/v 'Calisto' (IMO: 9306067), which weighed in at 15,487 gross tons. While en route to the Kiel Canal locks, 'Calisto' collided with the quay and also struck the bunker tanker 'Claudia' (IMO: 9280110), which was securely moored alongside the bulk carrier 'Interlink Affinity'. This unfortunate event resulted in the severing of the tanker's moorings and its bunkering hose, leading to a fuel discharge into the water.
