In the early hours of February 2, 2026, maritime authorities in Piraeus, Perama, and Aegina were alerted to a mechanical issue involving the tanker 'Tritonas', which had five crew members aboard. The incident occurred approximately 1.4 nautical miles north of Aegina, prompting a swift response from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) of the Greek Coastal Region (EKSED). In response, the tugboat 'Christos XXXVII' (IMO: 7729710) was dispatched to provide assistance. The crew successfully towed the disabled vessel to a berth in the Perama shipbuilding and repair zone, where it was securely moored.
