What Crew Members Say About True-Brother

An unexpected incident unfolded during the unloading operation of the cargo ship MV True Brother at Misrata Port on November 21, 2025. The vessel was docked at the port’s grain silo facility when the event occurred, prompting immediate investigation by local authorities into the specifics of the situation. Notably, the MV True Brother had embarked on its journey from San Lorenzo on October 12 and successfully arrived in Misrata just days prior, on November 15. The ship's IMO number remains a focal point as inquiries continue, seeking to ascertain the precise nature of the incident.

On the evening of May 3, 2013, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the cargo vessel 'Ljuta' contacted the MRCC Joburg via semaphore from Villerville to report that a crew member was experiencing a medical emergency. In response, MRCC Joburg quickly facilitated a conference call with the Centre for Maritime Medical Consultation (CCMM) located in Toulouse, as well as the Marine Medical Service Coordination (SCMM) in Le Havre. These organizations recommended immediate medical evacuation for the ailing crew member. Following their guidance, a Dragon 76 helicopter was deployed to the scene, equipped with a specialized medical team. The helicopter successfully hoisted the sick individual aboard and prepared for a prompt transfer to land. The crew member was safely airlifted and transported to Jacques Monod Hospital in Le Havre, arriving around 8 p.m. at which point the 'Ljuta' was anchored approximately 16 km west of Le Havre.
