Coast Guard Conducts Medical Evacuation Off Washington Coast
On October 30, 2018, a U.S. Coast Guard aircrew successfully performed a medical evacuation for a 46-year-old Russian crew member aboard the vessel "Olympic Hope," situated 45 miles off the coast of Washington. The operation began at 1:45 p.m. when the Coast Guard 13th District Command Center in Seattle received a call for assistance from the vessel's operators, triggering a rapid response that included arranging for language translation.
