On December 17, 2018, at 9:30 p.m., the Onego Haren, a vessel transporting a cargo of luxury yachts, docked at the Transversal dock of the Port of Vigo. This ship began its journey from St. Petersburg on December 1 and made a stop in La Rochelle on December 11. While navigating the English Channel, the Onego Haren encountered issues with the stowage of one of the yachts located on its foreship. The yacht had shifted dangerously close to falling overboard, prompting urgent action. Utilizing a pulley system, crew members successfully realigned the yacht before the ship could safely continue its voyage. After ensuring that all cargo was securely stowed, the Onego Haren departed Vigo on December 19 at 7:20 p.m., setting course for Tortola with an estimated arrival date of December 30.
