Norled, the prominent Norwegian maritime operator, confirmed on October 28, 2020, that two of its employees have tested positive for the coronavirus. In a press release, the company revealed that one of the infected individuals was aboard the vessel 'Ullensvang', which was actively navigating the route between Mannheller and Fodnes on October 26. The second employee, a crew member of the 'Hjelmeland', serves on the route connecting Hjelmeland, Nesvik, and Skipavik. The company is taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of its staff and passengers.

On November 6, 2018, the ferry Ullensvang experienced significant operational challenges when a trailer became lodged on its cargo deck during the afternoon hours. The steel-construction trailer not only blocked a section of the deck but also caused damage to the overhead structure, leading to compromised roof tiles. As a result, the car deck was rendered unusable, forcing the ferry to operate with reduced capacity in the evening. Large vehicles had to be redirected to alternate ferries to continue their journeys. At 7 p.m., the Ullensvang was taken out of service for necessary repairs, with the crew expressing their commitment to resume normal operations by November 7.

Currently, the ferry remains docked in Hareid following an incident where human error led to an allision on September 1.
