A maritime incident unfolded on February 14, 2011, when the pilot boat 'Pilot 2', measuring 13.9 meters in length, sank near Tsim Sha Tsui following a collision with the 'New Ferry 86'. The collision occurred approximately two kilometers from the China Hong Kong City Pier during the night. Although three crew members aboard the pilot boat sustained minor injuries, all 161 passengers on the catamaran were reported to be unharmed. The catamaran, which suffered slight damage, managed to navigate back to the China Hong Kong City Pier independently. In response to the incident, warning floats were deployed in the surrounding area to safeguard other vessels. That evening, the affected passengers were promptly transferred to another catamaran set for Macau. Meanwhile, the damaged catamaran is currently awaiting repairs at the company's dock located in Cheung Sha Wan, with only the bow sustaining visible damage.
