United Arab Chemical Carriers Expands Fleet with Acquisition of Bunga Bakalawi and Bunga Balsam
United Arab Chemical Carriers (UACC), based in Dubai, has made a significant investment of $70 million in the acquisition of two chemical tankers, reinforcing its position in the maritime industry. The 45,612 deadweight tonnage (dwt) vessel, Bunga Balsam, and the 45,337 dwt tanker, Bunga Bakalawi, were each purchased for $35 million. Both vessels were constructed in 2010 by the esteemed SLS Shipbuilding of Korea. This latest addition follows UACC’s earlier acquisition of two vessels in January, bringing their current fleet to a total of 17 vessels, with a strong emphasis on Medium Range (MR) tankers. The company is under the leadership of Per Wistoft, who recently assumed the role of CEO after transitioning from Brightoil Shipping earlier this year. Source: GulfshipNews
