On November 12, 2025, the Vardehorn ferry, which operates the Levang to Nesna route, encountered a technical malfunction. Although the repair was successfully executed, the vessel experienced a delay of around 10 to 15 minutes. Passengers were informed that the ferry would strive to return to its regular schedule, with a revised departure time from Levang set for 1:55 p.m. Travelers were advised to arrive at the terminal as planned, as some of the lost time was anticipated to be compensated during the journey.

On July 27, 2021, the ferry 'Vardehorn' encountered trouble while navigating from Kjøpsvik, ultimately running aground at the ferry berth in Drag, located within the Hamarøy municipality. The vessel was carrying 41 passengers along with eight crew members at the time of the incident. Authorities, including the police, were promptly informed by the Main Rescue Center about the situation, leading them to conduct an interrogation of the vessel's master. Preliminary investigations suggest that a malfunction in the steering gear may have been responsible for the grounding. To assess the condition of the ferry, a lifeboat from the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (NSSR) was dispatched, equipped with divers to inspect the hull. The lifeboat was expected to arrive at around 1 p.m. Following the examination, it was anticipated that with the right tide and assistance from tugs, the ferry would be successfully refloated. Thankfully, all passengers remained safe on board during the incident.
