On March 8, 2012, the ferry Veøy experienced challenging weather conditions shortly after departing from Tømmervåg at 13:30. Due to strong winds, the vessel had to drop anchor. Unfortunately, the anchor became entangled with a mooring attached to several smaller boats, causing the ferry to unintentionally pull them out to a distance of approximately 200-300 meters. The ferry eventually relocated to a safer position near Feta, situated just off the timber harbor in Trout. Divers from the lifeboat Erik Bye were deployed to assist in resolving the situation, and the lifeboat remained on standby until the ferry was able to resume its journey between 16:00 and 17:00, as the wind conditions improved.
