The vessel 'Avalon' has been undergoing significant repairs at the Niestem Sander Drydock located in Delfzijl since June 27. In an unexpected turn of events, the Dutch ship 'Heyn' (IMO: 9423671) joined her in the drydock complex on July 1, after the Heyn collided with the Goole south pier on the River Ouse on June 20. Following rigorous repair work, the 'Avalon' successfully completed its maintenance on July 19 at 8:20 PM. Subsequent to the repairs, 'Avalon' set sail to Inkoo, marking its first port of call post-repair, with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) on July 23.

On March 1, 2018, the vessel 'Avalon' sustained severe damage while navigating the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal. The ship, which had set sail from Antwerp and was en route to Sluiskil, collided with several mooring bollards near Terneuzen around 10 a.m. The impact caused extensive breaches along the starboard side and resulted in a crack in the ballast water tank, leading to a spill. The allision was exacerbated by strong winds, which also caused the ship to strike the quay and mooring poles. Fortunately, ship traffic in the area remained unaffected. Following the incident, a salvage company successfully towed the 'Avalon' to the quay along the route from Terneuzen to Sas van Gent. After repairs were initiated by Shipyard Reimerswaal, the ship departed from Hansweert on June 5 at 10:20 a.m., subsequently heading to Rotterdam.
