The Viking-Diamond: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On October 4, 2022, a critical medical evacuation operation took place involving the 'Viking Diamond', which was traveling from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Tanger Med. The incident occurred approximately 100 miles north of Lanzarote, prompting the activation of emergency response teams. The SAR helicopter Helimer 206 was dispatched to the scene, where it successfully airlifted the ailing crew member. After being hoisted from the vessel, the individual was swiftly transported to the nearby airport. An ambulance was on standby to facilitate immediate transfer to a hospital for urgent medical treatment.

On the night of May 27, 2020, the 'Viking Pegasus' collided with the ferry 'Express Pegasus' at the newly constructed pier of Drapetsona, Piraeus. Authorities from the Keratsini port department took precautionary measures and detained both vessels following the incident. Preliminary assessments revealed that the 'Express Pegasus' incurred damage at its port side bridge cam; however, fortunately, there were no reported injuries or environmental pollution resulting from the allision. To facilitate the safe departure of both ships, the port authority has requested the submission of the vessels' class certificates.
