On the evening of February 4, 2025, the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) was dispatched for a critical medical evacuation involving the cable-laying vessel 'Viking Neptun', which was operating approximately 15 nautical miles offshore from IJmuiden. A crew member aboard had suddenly experienced serious health complications, necessitating immediate medical attention. In a coordinated response, the KNRM lifeboat swiftly made its way to the vessel, collaborating with an ambulance crew for timely assistance.
