Viking Sea Allides with Dock in Hamilton Incident
On August 30, 2017, at 3 p.m., the cruise ship 'Viking Sea' experienced a significant allision while departing from Hamilton, Bermuda. The incident occurred as the vessel was being assisted by two government-operated tugs, 'Powerful' and 'Faithful'. Unfortunately, a towline from one of the tugs snapped, causing the vehicles carrier to lose control and collide with the cargo dock, impacting its stern against the berth. Following the incident, the 'Viking Sea' was held for a thorough survey before being cleared to continue its journey. The vessel resumed its voyage in the early morning hours of August 31, setting sail for Panama.
