The company has successfully secured a nine-month charter with Siemens Wind Power for its subsea support vessel, the Acergy Viking. This marks a significant milestone as it represents Eidesvik’s inaugural contract within the burgeoning offshore wind industry. Scheduled to commence following a brief mobilization period, the contract will see the Acergy Viking provide essential accommodation services at a project site in Germany. In a commendable display of seamanship, the crew aboard the subsea vessel 'Acergy Viking' received accolades for their decisive rescue of the stranded crew from the trawler 'Ramnfjord' on the morning of April 12, 2012, near Nordmøre. During the incident, seven crew members from 'Ramnfjord' were forced to abandon ship, with two of them ending up in the tumultuous sea. Despite facing challenging conditions with waves reaching three meters, the 'Acergy Viking' deployed a small rescue boat that successfully retrieved the two crew members from the water. After the daring rescue, the individuals were promptly given medical attention aboard the 'Acergy Viking.' The skipper of the lifeboat 'Sundt Flyers' praised the outstanding performance of the 'Acergy Viking' crew during this challenging operation, highlighting the skill and courage displayed in such difficult circumstances.
