The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 PM, prompting the Kiel Canal traffic center to notify the marine police in Brunsbüttel. The incident transpired when the captain slipped on a recently cleaned, wet deck. In response, representatives from the shipowner promptly arrived at the Brunsbüttel lock to assist, and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Following a thorough investigation by the Transport Association, the vessel received special authorization from the flag state to continue its passage through the canal to Kiel.
