Viktoria-Lady Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On February 20, 2015, at approximately 10:50 AM, the fish carrier 'Viktoria Lady' ran aground about 20 miles northwest of Ullapool, within the waters of Badcall Bay. The grounding resulted in a breach in the hull, leading to significant water ingress and a noticeable starboard list. In response to the emergency, a search and rescue helicopter was dispatched from Stornoway, alongside the Lochinver lifeboat and a Coastguard team, to assist the seven crew members in managing the situation and to help refloat the vessel. The Lochinver RNLI launched their all-weather lifeboat at 12:15 PM, joining forces with the Lochinver Coastguard Rescue Team and the Stornoway SAR helicopter. Together, they worked diligently to monitor the distressed fish carrier until it managed to anchor securely, allowing the master to confirm that the crew was out of immediate danger. Following the re-floating efforts, divers were called to assess the damage to the vessel's hull. Throughout the incident, both the Lochinver lifeboat and the Coastguard rescue team remained on-site to monitor the situation and check for any signs of pollution in the water.
