On the afternoon of May 24, 2023, a critical situation arose involving an 88-year-old passenger aboard the 'Vista,' which was navigating approximately 23 nautical miles off the coast of Pylos. The Port Authority of Pylos swiftly responded to reports of the elderly woman's urgent need for medical attention. In a decisive action, the Search and Rescue (SAR) vessel 'Santino' was dispatched from Pylos to assist. Once on the scene, the SAR team successfully evacuated the woman and transported her back to the port of Pylos. From there, she was promptly taken via ambulance to the Pylos Health Center and subsequently transferred to the General Hospital of Kalamata for further treatment. Meanwhile, the 'Vista' continued its journey, ensuring both passenger safety and timely medical care.
