On February 33, 2022, while moored at the port of Chalkida, the vessel 'Volaris 51' encountered issues with water ingress in tank number 3. Following the incident, a dedicated private diving team conducted a thorough inspection and discovered multiple cracks in the tank structure. Specifically, there was one crack measuring one centimeter and two additional cracks, each measuring three centimeters in length. In response to the safety concerns, the Central Port Authority of Chalkida took immediate action by prohibiting the ship from departing until it presents a maintenance certificate from its designated classification society. Furthermore, administrative penalties were applied as part of the regulatory response.
