On April 3, 2017, Jan De Nul Group announced the successful installation of the 50th and final wind turbine for the Nobelwind offshore wind farm, a significant milestone achieved using their Heavy Lift Vessel, VOLE AU VENT. This impressive 165MW offshore wind farm, owned by Parkwind, is located approximately 45 kilometers from the Ostend coast and is set to generate renewable energy sufficient to power 186,000 households. Following this accomplishment, the VOLE AU VENT will be redeployed to undertake projects at the offshore wind park in Tahkoluoto, Finland.

In a significant move for renewable energy development, Jan De Nul Group is set to mobilize its specialized installation vessel, VOLE AU VENT, for the Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstration Project located near Blyth, Northumberland, UK. EDF Energy Renewables is spearheading the construction of this cutting-edge offshore wind farm, which will feature five of the world's largest wind turbines, the MHI Vestas V164-8.0 MW models. Designed for installation in water depths reaching up to 45 meters, the project is situated approximately 5.7 kilometers off the coast of Blyth, just north of Newcastle. The anticipated installation timeline is planned for the third quarter of 2017, marking a milestone in the UK's renewable energy landscape.
