On September 15, 2022, the newbuilding 'Voltaire' faced harrowing moments as Typhoon Mufia unleashed its fury, causing the vessel to break free from its moorings at the COSCO Shipyard in Nantong, China. The typhoon, which made landfall in the region multiple times, ultimately struck the Fengxian district. During the peak of the storm, the eye passed directly over the shipyard, leading to the reported damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries among the personnel present at the site. Following the storm's passage, the 'Voltaire' was safely re-secured at the yard. Initial inspections revealed minor damages primarily to the helideck and specific sections of the crane, with comprehensive assessments currently in progress to ascertain the full extent of the impact.
