Working Conditions Aboard the Vos-Hera

Vroon Offshore Italia SRL has announced the successful repositioning of its versatile vessel, VOS Hera, to the Aberdeen fleet, further enhancing their operational capabilities in the region. Operating under the UK flag, VOS Hera will make Aberdeen her new home port, as stated in the company's recent press release. Constructed in 2010 at the Fujian SouthEast Shipyard in China, VOS Hera is a robust 65-ton bollard pull class B emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV). This impressive ship is outfitted with one daughter craft and a fast-rescue craft, along with tanker-assist and Fi-Fi 1 firefighting capabilities. While VOS Hera's primary role revolves around emergency response and rescue operations, her designation as a tanker-assist vessel allows her to engage in three additional critical services. These include emergency tanker towing, heading control to help tankers maintain their direction during connections or disconnections at offshore installations, and single-anchor loading (SAL) hose handling, which involves retrieving a hose from the seabed and adjusting it in the path of an approaching tanker. This strategic deployment marks VOS Hera as the second tanker-assist vessel reassigned to the Aberdeen fleet this year, joining her sister vessel, VOS Hades. Upon her arrival in Aberdeen, VOS Hera will undergo preparations for ERRV duties before commencing her inaugural charter on Thursday, November 27.
