Collision Incident In Valsneset Involving Wilson Dordrecht

On May 2, 2022, at 02:15 AM, a maritime incident occurred in Valsneset when the 'Wilson Dordrecht' (IMO: 9145140) collided with the 'Wilson Main' during its berthing maneuver. The incident took place at coordinates 63°49'00.1"N, 009°38'20.4"E, where the 'Wilson Main' was already secured at the dock. As the 'Wilson Dordrecht' approached to berth, it made contact with the 'Wilson Main,' causing damage to the deck and railings of the already moored vessel. Following the incident, the 'Wilson Main' was docked at Fosen Yard in Aarhus for necessary repairs, arriving on May 4 at 6:30 PM. The vessel remained stationary as of May 6. Meanwhile, the 'Wilson Dordrecht' experienced only minor damages and departed from Valsneset on May 3 without performing any repairs, eventually arriving at Egersund on May 5 at 7:20 PM.

Late on January 17, 2017, at approximately 10 p.m., Rijkswaterstaat received an urgent report regarding a significant collision on the Waal River near Tiel. The incident involved the tank barge 'Aegir,' weighing 3,226 tons (EU-No.: 02326631), and the cargo ship 'Wilson Main.' The 'Wilson Main' had departed from Rotterdam at 4:30 p.m. on its journey to Duisburg, while the 'Aegir' was en route from Mannheim. The collision resulted in severe damage, with the 'Wilson Main' losing its port side anchor upon impact and sustaining notable dents and breaches on its forepart. The tanker 'Aegir' also suffered damage to its port side. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries stemming from this incident. The water police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
