On the evening of November 26, 2012, the cargo ship 'Arion', while traveling from Bremen to Emden, was involved in a collision with a fishing vessel (f/v) in the Weser River, just offshore Brake, near Kirchhammelwarden. During the incident, the 'Arion' unexpectedly veered off its course towards the west, striking the fishing vessel, which resulted in the tearing of its fishing net located on the starboard side, leaving it submerged in the river. The 'Arion' sustained damages on its port side estimated at around 25,000 euros. After the collision, authorities directed the 'Arion' to anchor at 6:50 p.m. off the Blexen Roads, where an investigation was carried out by the police boat 'Visura'. Following the investigation, at 8:50 p.m., the 'Arion' resumed its journey toward Emden, docking at the Ems Quay on November 27 at 11:20 a.m. The Polish master of the vessel was required to pay a safety deposit of 223.50 euros. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries or environmental pollution resulting from the incident.
