In the early hours of February 23, 2020, at 5:08 a.m., the cargo ship RMS Twisteden encountered unexpected challenges while navigating the busy Kiel Canal locks in Brunsbüttel. The vessel, which was on a course from Rotterdam to Sölvesborg, was struck by a powerful wind gust just as it was entering the canal. This unpredictable weather condition caused the ship to scrape along the quay before the crew managed to regain control.
