Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. proudly announced today that two of its managed vessels, the wood chip carrier WORLD SWAN II and the containership MOL MAGNIFICENSE, are among the distinguished recipients of the 2016 'Best Quality Ships Award' by the Japan Federation of Pilots' Associations (JFPA). This annual accolade, established in 2003, aims to raise awareness regarding the importance of harbor protection and environmental stewardship through the safe operation of ocean-going vessels. Selection for the award is based on evaluations by JFPA members who assess vessels navigating Japan's pilotage districts. This year, seven vessels were honored, highlighting the exceptional collaboration between MOL's crews and pilots, alongside the advanced onboard equipment and facilities for boarding and disembarking. The prestigious award ceremony took place on June 23, where a senior representative from MOL accepted the award certificate and commemorative memento from the Chairman of JFPA, underscoring the company's commitment to maritime safety and quality.
