DD Vanguard Faces Engine Troubles Off Shiono Misaki
On February 18, 2018, the bulk carrier 'DD Vanguard,' which had set sail from Tianjin, encountered significant engine issues, leaving it adrift in the Philippine Sea, just south of Shiono Misaki. The vessel was located at coordinates 32°39'N 135°58'E at approximately 10 p.m. Following this incident, the 'DD Vanguard' successfully reached the port of Wakayama on February 22 at 10:44 a.m. The ship later commenced its departure from Wakayama on February 27.
Bulk Carrier Collision at Chittagong Port
On March 18, an incident occurred involving the bulk carrier 'Yin Ping' (IMO: 9397690) while it was navigating towards Mongla, scheduled to arrive on March 19. The vessel collided with 'DD Vanguard' at anchorage A within the busy port of Chittagong, where the latter had been securely moored since March 15. The collision resulted in both vessels scraping against each other on their port sides, raising safety concerns at the port.
