In the early hours of March 6, 2024, three armed assailants executed a brazen theft aboard the cargo vessel 'Yangtze Crown'. The ship, which was making its way from Corpus Christi to Tianjin, was targeted while navigating near Pulau Cula at coordinates 1° 3.33' N 02° 103.40.23' E. The incident occurred around 4:10 p.m. near Belle Chasse, Louisiana, when the crew member fell while working in the cargo hold. Alerted by the New Orleans watchstanders, the Coast Guard promptly deployed an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station New Orleans.
