Bulk Carrier 'Yangtze Legend' Successfully Refloated and Docked in Alexandria
On June 2, 2023, the bulk carrier 'Yangtze Legend' achieved a significant milestone as it was refloated and safely moored at Alexandria Anchorage following a lightering operation conducted by the cargo vessel 'Ras Sedr' (IMO: 9055163). This recovery effort began at the end of May after 'Yangtze Legend' ran aground on May 23. On the morning of June 3 at 6 a.m., the vessel docked at El Dekheila General Cargo Quay. Notably, throughout the grounding period, maritime traffic in and out of Alexandria/Al Dikheila remained unaffected, ensuring no delays for other vessels. The 'Yangtze Legend,' which arrived at Alexandria Anchorage on May 12 with a cargo of soybeans from Arroyo Seco, is now back on course after this successful operation.
