On July 7, 2012, at approximately 2 p.m., the vessel Spaarnediep, en route from Rostock to Ceuta, encountered difficulties after leaving the Holtenau locks and subsequently veered off course, striking the embankment of the Kiel-Canal near Projensdorf.
