Subsea 7 Secures Dual Contracts for Wind Farm Projects

Nov 04, 2019 07:01

Subsea 7, a leading Norwegian offshore service provider, has successfully landed two significant contracts from Jan de Nul and One Subsea. The contract with Jan de Nul involves the transportation, pre-piling, and installation of 47 jacket foundations specifically designed for wind turbines at the Formosa 2 Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan. This ambitious project is set to be executed by Subsea 7's subsidiary, Seaway 7, over the course of 2020 and 2021. The company plans to utilize its heavy lift vessels, the Seaway Yudin and Seaway Strashnov, to carry out the operations effectively.

Progress at Trianel Windpark Borkum II: Monopile Foundations Installation Underway

Aug 01, 2018 10:52

As of now, Seaway Heavy Lifting's (SHL) vessel Stanislav Yudin has successfully installed eight out of the planned 32 monopile foundations at the Trianel Windpark Borkum II, located approximately 40 kilometers north of Borkum Island in the German North Sea. This significant milestone was achieved in late June, marking the project's advancement in renewable energy development. The installation process will see the remaining 24 monopiles and transition pieces arrive via barges from Nordenham, with Stanislav Yudin set to complete the installation by the end of summer. These monopoles are crucial as they will support 32 cutting-edge Senvion 6.33MW wind turbines, which will be installed by Jan De Nul, and are anticipated to be operational by the end of 2019. The Trianel Windpark Borkum II project is a collaborative effort among various stakeholders, including EWE AG with a 37.5% ownership stake, ewz Offshore Borkum GmbH holding 24.51%, and 17 German municipal utilities along with Trianel GmbH, which owns 37.99%. This 200MW venture represents a significant contribution to the region’s renewable energy portfolio. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving project as the transformation of the North Sea's energy landscape continues.
