On October 31, 2018, at 9 a.m., the Hanstholm rescue station received an urgent alert regarding the trawler "Dennis - Z 510" (IMO: 9215969), weighing in at 388 gross tons, which had unfortunately run aground just off Hanstholm port. The incident occurred as the crew mistakenly navigated towards the port's newly constructed eastern outer jetty, which remains incomplete. The skipper failed to notice the yellow markers that clearly outlined the correct approach to the port. As a result, the boom trawler collided with the stone wall, which is intended to form part of the eastern jetty's foundation, causing it to become stuck. In response, both the rescue vessels "C.B. Claudi" and "LRB 22" were dispatched to the scene. Once it was confirmed that the fishing vessel was not taking on water, rescuers received the go-ahead from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) and the Maritime Assistance Service (MAS) to attempt to free the grounded boat. Meanwhile, the crew of the "Dennis - Z 510" successfully managed to power their vessel out of the shallow water, operating at full reverse. By 11:30 a.m., the lifeboats escorted the trawler safely back into port.
