Working Conditions Aboard the Z548-Flamingo

On the afternoon of January 21, 2023, a fisherman aboard the trawler 'Flamingo-Z 548' faced a life-threatening situation due to a severe hand injury approximately 30 miles off the coast of La Hague in Manche. The vessel's skipper promptly sought help from the CROSS Jobourg, who swiftly coordinated with the maritime medical consultation center in Toulouse and the maritime medical coordination service in Le Havre. Following a thorough assessment, a medical evacuation (medevac) was deemed necessary. In response, the CROSS launched a Cayman helicopter from the French Navy, equipped with a medical team ready to assist.
