Achi Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On July 14, 2025, the cargo vessel 'Achi' faced detention in Trois Rivières, Canada, following the identification of 15 significant deficiencies during an inspection. Among these, five deficiencies were deemed critical enough to warrant the ship's detention. The serious issues included inadequate life-saving appliances, with rescue boats not being ready for use and improperly stowed. Fire safety measures were also found lacking, specifically regarding the maintenance of escape routes. Furthermore, the pollution prevention protocols were compromised due to a malfunctioning Ballast Water Management System. The vessel's International Safety Management (ISM) certification was also not in compliance with regulations. After addressing the identified issues, the 'Achi' was released on July 21 and is now heading to Bale Verte, with an estimated time of arrival set for July 28.
