On December 20, 2015, the vessel 'Adamas' encountered technical difficulties while navigating the Kiel Canal in an eastbound direction from Ijmuiden to Soelvesborg. The ship experienced engine failure and subsequently docked at the designated waiting area at Königsförde, where the crew made unsuccessful attempts to restore engine functionality. Given that the disabled 'Adamas' was obstructing maritime traffic in the canal, assistance was summoned. At midnight, tugs 'Stein' and 'Falckenstein' were dispatched from Kiel to tow the stranded vessel. They successfully maneuvered 'Adamas' to the North Port in Kiel, where it arrived at 1:30 a.m. on December 21 for necessary repairs by personnel from Lindenau Yard.
