Admiral Star Detained Once More in Haifa Following Inspection

Jan 14, 2026 10:22

On January 11, 2026, the cargo vessel 'Admiral Star' faced yet another detention in Haifa. This follows an extensive inspection conducted by the Mediterranean Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) authorities, which uncovered seven significant deficiencies on board. The rigorous checks focused on critical areas, including the engine room, navigation bridge, steering room, emergency fire pump, emergency generator, and emergency steering functionalities. After rectifying the issues, the ship departed from Haifa on the same day and positioned itself off Tripoli, with coordinates at 34° 34' N 035° 05' E as of January 13. Subsequently, the Admiral Star made its way to Iskenderun, arriving there on January 14. Notably, this incident marks the vessel's second detention in a short span, as it was previously detained for one day in Novorossiysk on October 30, 2025, due to two reported deficiencies.
