Africa-Sun Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

On October 19, 2025, the container vessel 'Africa Sun', which regularly navigates the shipping routes connecting Djibouti, Jeddah, Port Sudan, Massawa, Jebel Ali, and Port Khalifa, encountered an unfortunate incident as it ran aground at Djibouti's port. Fortunately, the port authorities acted promptly, ensuring there were no injuries reported and that environmental damage was averted. Following effective rescue efforts, the 'Africa Sun' was successfully refloated, allowing normal port operations to resume without delay. Prior to the grounding, on October 15, the Djibouti Ship Repair Yard (DSRY) had initiated critical maintenance work on the 'Africa Sun', which included comprehensive inspections of the hull and underwater components, as well as evaluations of electrical systems, structural integrity, deck repairs, tank and piping systems, alongside safety and regulatory compliance checks.
