On November 21, 2018, the vessel 'AK Pioneer' experienced a significant technical malfunction while docked at Gemlik. As a result, the Harbour Master revoked its departure clearance, requiring the ship to remain until essential and permanent repairs could be executed. On January 9, 2014, at 3:30 a.m., authorities in Brunsbüttel received a report from the owners of the cargo ship 'Vibora', indicating the presence of two stowaways onboard. The ship was en route from Pointe Noire, via Leon Y Castillo, to Liepaja when the crew discovered the two men. Following the alert, police swiftly boarded the vessel at the Brunsbüttel locks to conduct a search for identification. However, the individuals, a 25-year-old Congolese national and a 23-year-old from Gabun, were unable to present any personal documents. Consequently, the police escorted them ashore for further processing. Shortly after, at 4:40 a.m., the 'Vibora' resumed its journey to the east. Investigations revealed that the stowaways had separately managed to board the vessel in Gabun at the beginning of December, remaining undetected for three weeks before the crew found them.
