On February 20, 2020, at 5:30 AM, a group of unidentified assailants managed to board the tanker 'Al Barrah' while it was anchored at Kakinada, located at coordinates 17°03'42"N and 82°24'48"E. The intruders were able to make off with two mooring ropes and eight paint drums before making their escape. Following the theft, the vessel's Master immediately notified the Kakinada pilot station, along with other pertinent authorities, to report the unfortunate event. In response, the Indian Coast Guard has alerted coastal security police to initiate an investigation into the matter.
