Sibur Tobol LPG Carrier Set for Test Loading at SIBUR's Ust-Luga Terminal
The LPG carrier Sibur Tobol has successfully docked at the newly established terminal of SIBUR in the Port of Ust-Luga, where it will undergo test loading of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This strategic move marks a key step in the pre-commissioning phase of the terminal's launch, as confirmed by the Sovcomflot press center. After completing the test loading, the Sibur Tobol is scheduled to sail to a port in Sweden, delivering vital LPG supplies to end consumers. Chartered under a long-term contract with Sovcomflot, Russia's leading tanker operator, the Sibur Tobol is the second vessel to be integrated into SIBUR’s fleet. Within Sovcomflot's portfolio, the gas carrier segment is gaining momentum, featuring a fleet of 10 vessels, including the Sibur Tobol and its sister ship, Sibur Voronezh, with plans for four additional gas carriers currently under construction. Constructed by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd. in South Korea, the Sibur Tobol made its inaugural journey of 12,000 nautical miles, taking 36 days to reach the Russian coastline after departing from its home port. Meanwhile, the LNG carrier Sibur Voronezh, the first vessel dedicated to SIBUR operations, began its service in September and has already completed six voyages delivering LPG across Europe.
