Working Conditions Aboard the Alexander

On July 16, 2021, at 02:30 a.m., the cargo ship 'Alexander', carrying a crew of 12, unexpectedly ran aground on the River Don, approximately two nautical miles from Azov. The precise location of the grounding was recorded at coordinates 47°07'48"N, 039°27'24"E. Fortunately, the incident did not disrupt the flow of traffic from passing vessels. Emergency assistance was swiftly initiated, with a tug dispatched to the scene. The successful refloating of the Alexander occurred at 8:55 p.m., after which the vessel was escorted to a berth in Kurgan shortly thereafter. Thankfully, there were no reports of pollution or injuries stemming from the incident.
